This will allow the wax and wick to heat properly and emit fragrance Move your candle to another location to avoid drafts from vents or fans Please note: single wick candles are meant to be used in smaller rooms to enhance fragrance performance. Double or triple wick candles work best in larger rooms Wooden Wick Care Tips Please review all of the Candle Care Tips above as they also apply to Wooden Wick candles. Trim the wooden wick before each burn, even before the first burn. Trimming your wooden wick candles are very important due to the carbon build up on the wood. Trimming your wick allows the candle to have a steady flame and prevents excessive sooting. Burn the wooden wick for 3-4 hours during the first burn and each burn after that. Burning your candle for 3-4 hours during the first burn allows the wax to completely pool around the edges of your candle. Burning your wooden wick for 3-4 hours allows the fragrance to fully heat and emit into your room and it prevents tunneling (wax walls around the edges of your jar). Monitor the flame on your wooden wick. If your wooden wick candle has a flame that is taller than 1in, please carefully extinguish the candle. Once the candle is extinguished and the wax has fully hardened, trim your wooden wick down to 1/4'', to remove any of the black carbon layer. Be sure to discard the wick remanence so it does not melt with the wax in your candle. This will allow the candle to maintain normal flame and provide the best burning experience! Discontinue use of your candle when there is ¼’’ wax left in the jar or when the bottom of the jar is visible through the wax. Over-burning your candle can cause excessive sooting or overheating of the jar. It is best to discontinue burning your candle when there is ¼’’ of wax left.
